Summary
Norman Thayer, a grouchy retiree and his wife, Ethel Thayer spend their summers in their New England house on Golden Pond. This year their 40 year old daughter, Chelsea visits with her new fiancée and his teenage son, Billy, on their way to Europe. They leave Billy behind to bond with Norman although they don't see eye to eye. Chelsea returns to her father who has been transformed into a new person hoping to fix their strained relationship before it's too late.
